DAILY ANOUNCEMENTS

Bank of America is offering the chance of a lifetime!  Would you like to work as a paid intern at a local nonprofit?  Would you like to develop leadership and career skills while connecting with like-minded students from across the country?  Or how about attending a week-long Student Leaders Summit in Washington DC?  Then apply for the Bank of America Student Leaders Program.  For more information, please visit www.plantationbrace.com(ends 12/19)

Attention Seniors…Have you checked your Bright Futures Applications?  Do you have 100 hours of community service documented, turned into your counselor, and recorded?  No?  You have until Tuesday, January 20th to get it done!  This holiday season, make sure you get your service hours completed.  Then turn them in to your counselor as soon as you get back from break!  For more information about Bright Futures, visit www.plantationbrace.com/resources.  (ends 12/19)

Would you like to contribute to the love of reading?  Simply place children’s books in the boxes in participating teachers’ classrooms.  These books will then be given to shelters to spread the love of reading to underprivileged children!  Collections will start December 8th. (ends 12/20)

Are you a junior who would like to graduate early?  See Ms. Knight during A or B lunch in the guidance office to confirm you early graduation plans.

Once a week we will be giving you interesting recycling facts:  Recycling 1 ton of paper saves 17 trees, 7,000 gallons of water, 3 cubic yards of landfill space, 2 barrels of oil, and 4000 kilowatt hours of electricity.  We are starting a new recycling program at PHS, so look out for the blue recycling bins in the court yard!  Remember that plastic bags, lunch trays, and food DO NOT go in the blue bins.

Do you have any old, broken, or cracked phones that you don’t use anymore?  SGA is collecting any old, broken, or damaged phones during A and B lunches.  They will be donated to the Ann Strock Center dedicated to enriching the lives of adults and children with any development disabilities.  There will also be boxes in your teachers’ classrooms for any donations or drop them off in room 134.

Attention Colonels, Stand up and Give Leandra Davis a Round of Applause on her acceptance and a $10,000 Scholarship to Florida A&M University! Way to go Leandra! For more information on college and the application process, please visit: www.PlantationBrace.com

Hey Seniors!! We want to celebrate YOU! Bring your college acceptance letters and scholarship awards to the BRACE office and we will send a shoutout to the world in celebration of you! Stop by and see Ms. Smith for more information in the BRACE office: Room 117.
